How LittleDraft uses AI
LittleDraft uses artificial intelligence to generate, prepare, rewrite and personalize email drafts. Depending on the feature you choose, it can also translate text or research a question to help prepare a reply. Optional automatic features can prepare drafts using your settings.
AI-generated text can be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate for the situation. Please review and edit every draft, check important facts and confirm that it says what you intend before sending. You decide whether to send it in Apple Mail.
What stays on your Mac
Learning your writing style from the sent mail you choose takes place locally on your Mac. LittleDraft can use the resulting style characteristics to personalize a draft. With separate controls, you may also choose to keep or share historical writing examples.
Reference documents are processed and their extracted text stored locally in an encrypted library. Capture Context recognizes text on your Mac; it saves recognized text rather than screenshot images. Local content you choose for a reply may be included in a generation request.
What is sent for AI generation
When you request a draft, rewrite, translation or research-assisted reply, LittleDraft sends the information needed for that task through its service to OpenAI. Depending on your choices and the feature, this can include the selected email and conversation context, your instructions, writing-style hints, authorized writing examples, selected reference text and captured context.
If you enable Pro Pre-Drafts or Auto-write, eligible emails and permitted context can be processed without a separate manual generation request for each draft. You remain responsible for reviewing the result.
Little Engine sends a question for web research. Review the question before using it and remove information you do not want included in a search.
Storage and provider handling
The service records operational and usage information. Requests to OpenAI’s Responses API use a setting that disables response storage in that API; this does not mean that the provider retains no data. Provider processing and retention policies may still apply.
